Rita Ora for LOVE Magazine advent Fashion Film

Rita Sahatçiu Ora (d. Rita Sahatçiu, 26 Kasım 1990, Priştine, Kosova), Arnavut kökenli, İngiliz şarkıcı, söz yazarı ve oyuncu. 2012'de yayınlanan ilk albümü Ora, Birleşik Krallık'ta bir numaradan listelere giriş yaptı. Albümde Birleşik Krallık'ta liste birincisi olan "R.I.P." ve "How We Do (Party)" teklileri bulunmaktadır. DJ Fresh'in "Hot Right Now"undaki düetiyle zirveye ulaştıktan sonra, Ora art arda üç teklisi ile zirveye ulaşarak 2012 yılında Birleşik Krallık Tekliler Listesi'nde bir numara olan en fazla tekliye sahip sanatçı oldu.[2] 2013 töreninde üç Brit Ödülü'ne aday gösterildi.[3] İkinci albümünün ilk teklisi "I Will Never Let You Down", 2014 listelerine zirveden giriş yaparak Ora'nın Birleşik Krallık'taki dördüncü bir numarası oldu.[4] Ayrıca 2014'te, Iggy Azalea'nın teklisi "Black Widow"da düet yaptı ve ABD'de üçüncü sıraya ulaştı. 2015'te, Ora The Voice UK'un dördüncü sezonunda jüri koltuğunda yer aldı.

İlk yılları

Ora, 1990'de Priştine, Kosova'da[a] Kosovalı Arnavut anne-babanın çocuğu olarak dünyaya geldi ve bir yaşındayken Birleşik Krallık'a taşındı. Batı Londra'da Portobello Road yakınlarında büyüdü,[5] and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, öğrenimine "St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Earls Court" ilkokulunda başlamıştır. Ardından "Sylvia Young Tiyatro Okulundan" ve sonra da "St Charles Catholic Sixth Form Koleji"nden mezun olmuştur. Rita genç yaşta şarkı söylemeye başlamıştır.

Annesi Vera Sahatçiu bir psikiyatr, babası Besnik Sahatçiu ise bir pub sahibidir.[6] Ora'nın Elena adında bir ablası ve Don adında bir erkek kardeşi vardır. Adını dedesi Besim Sahatçiu'nun sevdiği film yıldızı Rita Hayworth'tan aldı.[7] Rita Sahatçiu [Arnavutçada saatçi] olarak doğdu, fakat babası daha sonra soyadına Ora'yı (Arnavutçada saat) ekletti, böylece kolayca telaffuz edilebilirdi.[1]

Müzik kariyeri
2007–10: Kariyer başlangıçları

Ora Londra civarındaki açık mikrofon oturumlarında ve bazen de babasının pub'ında sahne almaya başladı.[7] 2007'de, Ora Craig David'in "Awkward" adlı parçasında göründüğünde ilk müzik yayınına sahip oldu and then again in 2008 on "Where's Your Love", featuring Tinchy Stryder, for which she also appeared in the music video.[8][9] James Morrison'un albümü Songs for You, Truths for Me'nin iki şarkısında bek vokal olarak düet yaptı.[10]

2011–13: Atılım ve Ora

2011 boyunca, Ora YouTube'da çeşitli cover'lar ve çıkış albümü üzerine yaptığı çalışmaları hakkında videolar yayınladı.[17] Videolar o sırada "Hot Right Now" şarkısı için kadın vokalist arayan DJ Fresh'in dikkatini çekti.[18] Ora 12 Şubat 2012'de yayınlanan tekliye eşlik etti ve Birleşik Krallık Tekliler Listesi'nde bir numaraya yerleşti.[19] Şubat 2012 boyunca, Drake'nin Club Paradise Turnesi dahilindeki Birleşik Krallık konserlerinin açılışında da yer aldı. Ora çıkış albümünde Ester Dean, will.i.am, Chase & Status, The-Dream ve Stargate ile çalıştı ve albümü tamamen bitirmesi iki yıl sürdü.[20][21]

Çıkış albümünden Birleşik Krallık'taki ilk teklisi "R.I.P." (Tinie Tempah ile düet), 6 Mayıs 2012'de yayınlandı.[22] Chase & Status tarafından yapılan şarkı Birleşik Krallık Tekli Listeleri'ne en üst sıradan giriş yaptı ve Ora'nın Birleşik Krallık'taki ilk solo bir numarası oldu.[23] 12 Ağustos 2012'de, "How We Do (Party)" yayınlandı ve Birleşik Krallık ve İrlanda'da bir numaraya ulaştı. Bu, Ora'nın Birleşik Krallık'taki solo sanatçı olarak ikinci ve toplamda ise üçüncü bir numarasıydı.[24] Şarkı Avustralya, Yeni Zelanda ve Japonya'da da ilk ona erişti.

Mylo Xyloto Turnesi'nde Coldplay'i desteklediği sırada, çıkış albümü adının Ora olacağını duyurdu.[25] It was released on 27 Ağustos 2012'de yayınlanan albüm Birleşik Krallık Albümler Listesi'ne birinci sıradan giriş yaptı.[2] Ora 2012 MTV Avrupa Müzik Ödülleri'nde En İyi BK/İrlanda Hareketi, En İyi Sanatçı ve Push Sanatçısı olarak aday gösterildi.[26] Eylül 2012'de, Usher'in Ocak 2013'te başlaması planlanan Euphoria Turnesi kapsamındaki Birleşik Krallık konserlerinin açılışında yer alacağı duyuruldu. Son anda, turne Usher'in "mesleki ve kişisel taahhütleri" yüzünden ertelendi.[27] 23 Ekim ile 30 Ekim 2012 arasında, Ora ilk turnesi olan Ora Turnesi'ne girişti, beş gün süren ABD turnesi MTV tarafından desteklendi.

"Shine Ya Light" 4 Kasım 2012'de yayınlandı ve onuncu sıraya yerleşerek Ora'nın Birleşik Krallık'taki art arda dördüncü ilk onda yer alan teklisi oldu.[28][29] 28 Kasım 2012'de, Ora Arnavutluk'un Bağımsızlığının 100. Yıl Dönümü için Tirana, Arnavutluk'ta düzenlenen konserde özel konuk olarak sahne aldı.[30] 11 Şubat 2013'te, Ora albümünün dördüncü ve sonuncu teklisi olan "Radioactive"yi yayınladı.[31] Ora çıkış albümünü desteklemek için 28 Ocak ile 13 Şubat 2013 arasından iki gün süren "Radioactive Turnesi"ne çıktı. 2013 BRIT Ödülleri'nde üç dalda aday gösterildi.[3]

2013–günümüz: Yaklaşan ikinci stüdyo albümü

2013'te Sepang, Malezya'da sahne alıyor

14 Ocak 2013'te, Ora ikinci albümünün daha açık ve ilkine göre daha fazla yönlü olacağını açıkladı.[32] 26 Şubat 2013'te, she revealed to Digital Spy'a ikinci albüm için Dev Hynes ile çalışıyor olduklarını ve kayıtın bir "parti kızı"nı farklı bir açıdan göstereceğini açıkladı.[33][34]

23 Mart 2013'te, Ora Princess Grace Foundation'ın yararına Monte Carlo'da Karl Lagerfeld tarafından düzenlenen etkinlik Le Bal de la Rose du Rocher'de özel konuk olarak sahne aldı.[35] 24 Mayıs 2013'te, Ora was the headline act on 1Xtra Arena/In New Music We Trust stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend.[36] On 28 June 2013, Ora performed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.[37]

30 Ocak 2014'te, ikinci stüdyo albümünden ilk teklinin Calvin Harris tarafından yapılan "I Will Never Let You Down" olacağını duyurdu.[38][39] 18 Mayıs 2014'te, şarkı Birleşik Krallık Tekliler Listesi'ne bir numaradan giriş yaptı ve Ora'nın liste birincisi olan toplamda dördüncü, solo sanatçı olarak ise üçüncü teklisi olmuş oldu.[40]

Nisan 2014'te, Fuse'ye ikinci albümünde Diplo ve DJ Mustard ile düet yapacağını bunu yanı sıra Prince ile de birlikte çalışacağını açıkladı.[41] Ora, Iggy Azalea'nın The New Classic albümünden "Black Widow" adlı teklisinde ona eşlik etti.[42] Ağustos 2014'te, "Black Widow" Ora'nın Billboard Hot 100 listesinde ilk 10 arasında yer alan ilk şarkısı oldu.[43] 14 Aralık'ta, National Building Museum'da çekilen Christmas in Washington'un 2014 yayınında sahne aldı.[44] 22 Şubat 2015'te, 87. Akademi Ödülleri'nde Akademi ödülüne aday gösterilen "Grateful" şarkısını seslendirdi, şarkı Beyond the Lights filminde yer almıştı.[45]

Ora 2004'te İngiliz filmi Spivs'de rol aldı.14 Aralık 2012'de Electronic Arts basına Rita Ora'nın The Sims 3:Seasons adlı video oyununda yer alacağını duyurdu.2013'te 90210adlı diziye ve Hızlı ve Öfkeli 6 filmine konuk oldu.Nisan 2014'te Koreli şarkıcı Hyuna ile Funny or Die programının "Girl, You Better Walk" bölümünde yer aldı.

Rita Grinin Elli Tonu kitabının filminde kitabın kahramanı Christian Grey'in kız kardeşi Mia'yı canlandırdı. Film çekimleri Aralık 2013'te başladı ve Şubat 2015'te gösterime girdi.

2010'da  "Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones" reklamında ve Calvin Klein'ın "CK one Lifestyle" kampanyasından yer aldı. Superga'nın 2013 İlkbahar/Yaz koleksiyonun yüzü seçildi.2013 yazında Material Girl'ün yeni yüzü oldu.8 Eylül 2013'te DKNY'nın New York Moda Festivalinde podyuma çıktı. DKNY'nın Resort 2014 ve DKNY My NY parfümünün yüzü oldu.12 Eylül 2013'te Rimmel London Ora ile ruj ve oje üzerine bir çalışma yapacağını duyurdu. 2012'nin başlarında Rob Kardashian ile ilişkisi olduğu dedikoduları çıktı ama Temmuz 2012'de Rita bu dedikoduları yalanladı ve belirtti "Bu gerçek bir ilişki değil. O harika biri.Çok iyi arkadaşız." dedi

Rita One Direction grubundan Harry Styles ve BBC'nin sunucusu Nick Grimshaw ile iyi arkadaşlar.

Rita Ora Kosovalı Arnavut etnik köken ve Arnavutça ve İngilizce bilmektedir, Rita Ora'nın "Elena" isimli bir ablası ve "Don" isimli bir küçük erkek kardeşi vardır.

Rita Ora is a British singer-songwriter. She was born Rita Sahatçiu Ora in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatçiu. She is a granddaughter of director Besim Sahatçiu. At age one, her family decided to move to the United Kingdom. She grew up in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School and then St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing from a young age.

In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. She auditioned for Eurovision: Your Country Needs You on BBC One to be the British contestant for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest but later withdrew from the competition after a few episodes as she did not feel ready.

In 2007, Ora had her first music release when she appeared on Craig David's track entitled "Awkward" and then again in 2008 on "Where's Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder, for which she also appears in the music video. Ora began singing in bars in and around London, and in 2009 a A&R told Roc Nation about Ora, a few days after Ora flew out to New York and met Jay-Z. In 2009, Ora made a cameo on Jay-Z's video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Ora caught the attention of Jay-Z and he quietly signed her to Roc Nation, in which she was featured in a commercial for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones.

Rita Sahatçiu Ora (born Rita Sahatçiu; 26 November 1990) is a British singer, songwriter and actress. She rose to prominence in February 2012 when she featured on DJ Fresh's single, "Hot Right Now", which reached number one in the UK. Her debut studio album, Ora, released in August 2012, debuted at number one in the United Kingdom. The album contained the UK number-one singles, "R.I.P." and "How We Do (Party)". Ora was the artist with the most number-one singles on the UK Singles Chart in 2012, with three singles reaching the top position.[4]

Ora's second studio album, Phoenix, was released in November 2018. The lead single, "Your Song", reached the UK top ten, and the subsequent singles, "Anywhere" and "Let You Love Me", reached the top five in the UK. "Let You Love Me" made Ora the first British female solo artist to have thirteen top ten songs in the United Kingdom.[5]

Early life

Ora was born in Pristina, SFR Yugoslavia (modern-day Kosovo),[2] to Albanian parents. Her mother, Vera (née Bajraktari), is a psychiatrist and her father, Besnik Sahatçiu, is a pub owner, having previously studied economics.[6] Ora has an older sister, Elena, and a younger brother, Don. She was born as Rita Sahatçiu (pronounced [sahatˈtʃiu]; surname derived from the Turkish word saatçi, which means 'watchmaker'), but her parents later added Ora (ora means 'time' in Albanian) to the family surname so it could be easily pronounced.[7]

Her family left Kosovo for political reasons, because of the persecution of Albanians initiated with the disintegration of Yugoslavia.[8] They relocated to London, England in 1991, when she was a baby.[6] She grew up in Notting Hill, in West London,[9] and attended a performing arts school, Sylvia Young Theatre School.[10]

Music career
Career beginnings

Ora began performing at open mic sessions around London and, occasionally, in her father's pub.[11] In 2008, she auditioned for Eurovision: Your Country Needs You on BBC One to be the British contestant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 and qualified, but later withdrew from the competition after a few episodes as she "did not feel ready" and thought "that challenge wasn't for her."[12][13] Her manager, Sarah Stennett (who also worked with Ellie Goulding, Jessie J and Conor Maynard), later told HitQuarters that she reassured Ora that performing in Eurovision would hinder, rather than help her chances to make it as a solo artist.[14]

Shortly after, Ora's management got in touch with the American label, Roc Nation, and told them about her. Ora signed a recording deal and a publishing deal with Roc Nation in December 2008, and was one of their first signees.[14][15][16] She made a cameo appearance in Jay Z's video for "Young Forever" (2009).[17] After being signed, Ora recorded an album and wanted to release it, but her label advised against it and she started to work on other material for her debut album.[11]

Breakthrough and Ora

Throughout 2011, Ora released covers and videos about working on her debut album on YouTube.[18] The videos caught the attention of DJ Fresh, who at that time was looking for a female vocalist for his song, "Hot Right Now".[19] Ora featured on the single that was released on 12 February 2012, debuting at number one on the UK Singles Chart.[20] During February 2012, Ora was also the opening act at the UK concerts from Drake's Club Paradise Tour.

The first UK single from her debut album, "R.I.P." (featuring Tinie Tempah), was released on 6 May 2012.[21] Produced by Chase & Status, the song debuted at the top of the UK Singles Chart, becoming her first solo UK number one.[22] On 12 August 2012, "How We Do (Party)" was released, and it reached number one in the UK and Ireland. It was Ora's second UK number one as a solo artist, and third overall in 2012.[23]

Whilst supporting Coldplay on their Mylo Xyloto Tour, she later announced that her debut album would be titled Ora.[24] The album was released on 27 August 2012 in Europe and Oceania, and debuted at the top of the UK Albums Chart.[4] Ora was nominated for Best New Artist, Push Artist and Best UK/Ireland Act at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards.[25] In September 2012, it was announced that Ora would be the opening act on the UK concerts from Usher's Euphoria Tour set to start in January 2013. However, the tour was postponed due to Usher's "professional and personal commitments."[26] From 23 October through to 30 October 2012, Ora embarked on her first headlining tour, Ora Tour, a mini-concert US tour.

"Shine Ya Light", released on 4 November, became Ora's fourth consecutive UK top ten single in 2012, peaking at number ten.[27][28] On 28 November 2012, Ora performed as a special guest at the concert held in Tirana, Albania for the 100th Anniversary of the Independence of Albania.[29] Ora embarked on her first UK tour, "Radioactive Tour", in January 2013, to support her debut album. She was nominated for three awards at the 2013 Brit Awards, including the Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act.[30]

Split from Roc Nation and other projects

In January 2013, Ora revealed that her second album would be clearer and have more direction than the first one.[31] On 26 February 2013, she revealed to Digital Spy that her second album shows a different angle to a "party girl."[32][33] On 24 May 2013, Ora was the headline act on in New Music We Trust stage at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend.[34] On 28 June 2013, she performed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.[35]

In 2014, she had two top-five UK singles; the song "I Will Never Let You Down" which debuted at number one, and she featured on Iggy Azalea's "Black Widow" which peaked at number four in the UK, and the latter became Ora's first top ten song on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number three.[36][37][38] On 14 December 2014, Ora performed at the 2014 telecast of Christmas in Washington, filmed at the National Building Museum.[39] In January 2015, Ora featured on Charli XCX song, "Doing It", from her second studio album. On 22 February 2015, at the 87th Academy Awards, she performed the song "Grateful", which appears in the film Beyond the Lights.[40]

In December 2015, Ora filed a lawsuit against Roc Nation, seeking release from the label and citing that the contract she signed in 2008 is "unenforceable", due to California's "seven-year rule." The complaint stated that she's "only been permitted to release one album despite creating multiple additional records for release" and that her relationship with Roc Nation is "irrevocably damaged."[41][42][43] In January 2016, Roc Nation filed a counter-lawsuit against Ora for breaking her recording contract, in New York.[44] They reached a settlement in May 2016.[45]

In June 2016, it was reported that she signed a new record deal with Atlantic Records.[46] On 3 September 2016, she performed in a concert at the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, in Rome, at the vigil for Mother Teresa's canonisation, alongside other Albanian artists, accompanied by the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra.[47][48]

Phoenix

On 26 May 2017, Ora released her first solo single in almost two years, titled "Your Song", which peaked at number seven in the UK.[49][50] The song served as the lead single from Ora's second studio album, after previous attempts at her second record were lost in her lawsuit against her former label, Roc Nation. The second single, "Anywhere", became her eleventh top ten song in the UK, peaking at number two.[50] In January 2018, Ora released the song "For You" (with Liam Payne), from the soundtrack of the film Fifty Shades Freed.[51]

On 18 September 2018, Ora revealed the title of her second studio album, Phoenix, and its release date, 23 November. On 21 September, she released the album's fourth single, "Let You Love Me".[52] The song reached number four in the UK, marking Ora's 13th top-ten song, thus breaking a 30-year-old record for most top ten songs by a British female solo artist (previously jointly held by Shirley Bassey and Petula Clark).[5] On 29 October, she announced tour dates for the album in Europe, Asia and Oceania from 1 March until 29 May 2019.[53]

Upcoming third studio album

In April 2019, Ora released the song "Carry On" with Norwegian producer Kygo, as a standalone single for Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, a film in which she also briefly appears.[54] On 31 May, she released the song "Ritual", with Tiësto and Jonas Blue.

In September 2019, Ora confirmed to Marie Claire that she had begun working on her third studio album.[55] She provided further details regarding her upcoming third studio album with NME, stating that "people have been coming to studio sessions from all over the world. I've been working on this now for the past two years, on and off. I have plans for this third album to be something I've never done before."[56] On 12 February 2021, Ora released the EP Bang, with Kazakh producer Imanbek.[57]

In February 2022, Ora announced that she signed a record deal with BMG.[58]

Other ventures
Acting

An appearance in an episode of the British drama series, The Brief, was her first television role, at age 13. Shortly after, she appeared in the British film, Spivs (2004). In April 2014, Ora appeared alongside Korean popstar, Hyuna, in an episode of Funny or Die called "Girl, You Better Walk."[59] In 2015, she played Christian Grey's sister, Mia, in the film adaptation of the best-selling novel Fifty Shades of Grey, a role she later reprised in the film's two sequels.[60][61][3] Ora originally approached the production hoping to contribute to the film's soundtrack and instead was asked to audition for the role of Mia Grey by the director of the film, Sam Taylor-Johnson.[62][63] In the 2021 film, Twist, an adaptation of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, Ora played the Artful Dodger.[64]

She was announced to star in the Disney+ prequel to the 2017 film, Beauty and The Beast, in a role described as a “fugitive with surprising abilities who carries with her a secret that could potentially affect an entire kingdom”, but the series has been put on hold indefinitely.[65][66][67]

In 2010, Ora featured in a commercial for Skullcandy headphones.[68] In 2011, she appeared in Calvin Klein's CK One campaign.[69][70] In 2013, she was the face of Italian sneaker brand, Superga, and the face of "Material Girl", a clothing line designed by Madonna.[71][72] In September 2013, cosmetics brand, Rimmel, announced their collaboration with Ora for makeup collections.[73][74] She was the face of two Donna Karan 2014 collections, Resort collection and Autumn/Winter collection.[75][76][77] She was also the face of the label's fragrance, DKNY My NY, inspired by New York City.[78] In March 2014, Ora was one of the cast members of Marks & Spencer's "Leading Ladies" campaign.[79][80] Later in 2014, she appeared as the face of Roberto Cavalli Autumn/Winter campaign. In 2015, she appeared in Coca-Cola and Samsung Galaxy S6 advertising campaigns.[81][82] In 2019, she was the face of several German brands; luxury fashion label, Escada, jewellery company, Thomas Sabo, and footwear retailer, Deichmann.[83][84][85][86]

Design

In January 2014, Adidas announced a multi-year designer collaboration with Ora for their brand of casual sports clothing, Adidas Originals.[87][88] Ora designed her own apparel collections for the brand, including footwear and accessories.[89][90] In 2016, she collaborated with Italian fashion brand, Tezenis, on a capsule lingerie collection.[91][92] In 2018, Ora co-designed a capsule shoe collection with the Italian footwear designer, Giuseppe Zanotti.[93][94][95] After appearing as the face of Escada, Ora co-designed her own collection with the brand in 2019.[96]

Television

In 2015, she was a coach on the fourth series of The Voice UK on BBC One, replacing Kylie Minogue.[97] The same year, it was confirmed that Ora and BBC Radio 1 presenter, Nick Grimshaw, signed as judges for the twelfth series of The X Factor on the rival TV network, ITV, after a bidding war between The X Factor and The Voice UK.[98] She hosted the BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards, alongside Nick Grimshaw, several times (from 2013 to 2017).[99][100]

In July 2016, Tyra Banks, the creator of America's Next Top Model, announced that Ora would replace her as host of the revamped show which aired on VH1.[101] Ora hosted the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards on 12 November in London, at Wembley Arena.[102] In September 2019, Ora was announced as a judge for the UK version of the music game show, The Masked Singer, which aired on ITV in January 2020.[103]

Philanthropy

On 23 March 2013, Ora performed at Bal de la Rose du Rocher in Monte Carlo in aid of the Princess Grace Foundation.[104] On 1 June 2013, Ora performed at the "Chime for Change" charity concert at Twickenham Stadium, London, which raised funds and awareness for girls' and women's issues around the world.[105]

On 15 November 2014, Ora joined the charity group Band Aid 30 to record a version of the track, "Do They Know It's Christmas?", to raise money for the 2014 Ebola crisis in West Africa.[106] On 9 March 2016, she gave a speech on immigration and the Syrian refugee crisis at the We Day UK event in London, organised by Free the Children.[107]

In April 2019, she became one of UNICEF UK's ambassadors.[108][109]

Personal life

Ora speaks Albanian. Her mother is Catholic and her father is a nominal Muslim.[6] She considers herself spiritual but not religious.[110]

Her maternal grandfather, Osman Bajraktari, was the Albanian consul to Russia (then part of the Soviet Union).[111][112] Ora's paternal grandfather, Besim Sahatçiu, was a film and theatre director.[11][113]

On 10 July 2015, Ora was named an Honorary Ambassador of Kosovo by then-president, Atifete Jahjaga, at the Embassy of Kosovo in London.[114][115] Ora, who was joined at the ceremony by her parents, and former British Prime Minister and his wife, Tony and Cherie Blair, stated she was "overwhelmed" by the honour.[114]

Ora dated Scottish DJ Calvin Harris from 2013 until June 2014.[116] In 2016, Ora began a relationship with American musician Andrew Watt. They were together for two years until September 2018. They got back together in January 2019, but broke up for the second time in October 2019.[117]

In November 2020, Ora broke the COVID-19 restrictions by having her birthday party at a West London restaurant during a period of national lockdown.[118][119] Ora had recently returned from Egypt and was supposed to be isolating for 14 days as a result. According to the police, Ora's security offered to pay the venue £5,000 to break guidelines and asked for CCTV cameras to be switched off.[120] The restaurant's representative denied that such payment was made.[121] Boris Johnson's official spokesperson criticised Ora for the breach; however, it was later revealed that, six months prior, Johnson broke the lockdown rules himself.[122][123][124][125]
