Yolanthe Sneijder, 19 Mart 1985 tarihinde İspanya'nın İbiza adasında doğdu. Babası, Xavier Cabau İspanyol, annesi Richarda van Kasbergen ise Hollandalıdır. Yolanthe Sneijder-Cabau, Stop Kindermisbruik, gelişmekte olan ülkelerde çocuklara cinsel istismara bir son vermeyi amaçlayan Stop Kindermisbruik isimli vakfın kurucu ortağı ve elçisidir. Stop Kindermisbruik, çocuk fahişeleri serbest bırakmak, çocukların çocuk fahişeleri haline gelmesini engellemek ve serbest kalan çocukların yaşadıkları travma ile başa çıkmalarına yardımcı olmak gibi eylemlerde bulunur.[1]

5 Mart 2019'da kocası Wesley Sneijder ile ayrılma kararını açıkladı, ancak boşanmanın (henüz) olmayacağını açıkça belirtti. Yolanthe, Sneijder-Cabau soyadını kullanmayı bıraktı ve günümüzde kendini Yolanthe Cabau olarak adlandırıyor.

Yolanthe was born on March 19, 1985 on the Balearic islands of Ibiza. She has a Spanish father and a Dutch mother. She moved to the Netherlands when she was 5 years old and had most of her upbringing there. At the age of 16 Yolanthe started her acting career.

In 2001 She starred in the "School TV" series "Chromosomen" in which she played the young 14 year old Julia. After that she starred in the Dutch series named "Costa". Then Yolanthe went to Austria, where she acted in the movie "Snow Fever". Until October 2008 Yolanthe played the role of Julia Branca on the Dutch series "Onderweg Naar Morgen". In 2006 and 2007 Yolanthe did "URBNN" for BNN, in 2007 "Try before you die", and after that "Crazy 88". At the end of September 2006 the film "Turkish Chick" was released by film director Lodewijk Crijns, a nominee at the Dutch 'Gouden Kalf' Film Festival. In this film Yolanthe played the role of Dilara, who stole the heart of a young skateboarder. At the end of 2008 Yolanthe started to work for the broadcasting association "TROS". On October 24, 2008 she won the first 'Televizier Talent Award'. She starred in several TV shows, among others: "Twinzz", "Buma Gouden Harpen Gala" , "Te leuk om waar te zijn", and "Ei van Columbus". Additionally Yolanthe was one of the permanent jury members for AVRO's live shows of the Junior European Song Festival. Yolanthe played one of the leading roles as 'Kate Witte' in the successful RTL4 series "Voetbalvrouwen" during season 2009-2010. In addition to her on screen career, Yolanthe started her own foundation "Free A Girl" in 2008. Readers of the Dutch men's magazine FHM voted Yolanthe being the sexiest Dutch woman 3 years in a row. Yolanthe won BNN's award for best actress.

Early life

Cabau was born on the Spanish island of Ibiza. Her father, Xavier Cabau (1954–2007),[1] was Spanish, while her mother, Richarda "Rici" van Kasbergen, is Dutch. Xavier Cabau was a wealthy entrepreneur known as the "King of Ibiza", who owned several discothèques, restaurants, and bars.[2] Cabau's childhood in Spain was marked by domestic violence, after her father experienced financial problems and became addicted to drugs.[3] When she was five years old, her mother moved with her children to her native Netherlands.[3] She has seven siblings, as well as five half-siblings from her father's second marriage.[1] After graduating from high school at the age of 17, Cabau decided to pursue an acting career.[2]

Career

Cabau appeared in the Dutch productions Snowfever (2004) and Costa! (2005). From 2005 to 2008, she had a recurring role in the soap opera Onderweg naar morgen. In 2006, Cabau starred in the short film Turkse chick, which was nominated for a Gouden Kalf, the Dutch equivalent of an Academy Award. The film contained a controversial sex scene to which Cabau received public backlash. She later admitted that she regrets doing the scene.[4][5][6][7] A real-life WAG, she appeared in the third season of the dramedy Voetbalvrouwen, similar to the British series Footballers' Wives.[8] In 2006, 2007, and 2009, Sneijder-Cabau was voted the "Sexiest Dutch Woman" by the Dutch FHM.[9]

Personal life

Cabau was dating singer Jan Smit from January 2007 til May 2009. They ended their relationship a few days after Cabau was photographed with football player Wesley Sneijder. They were married on 17 July 2010 in Tuscany, Italy, six days after Sneijder played the final of the FIFA World Cup. The couple has one son. Following her marriage, she changed her surname from Cabau van Kasbergen to Sneijder-Cabau, which she also uses professionally.[citation needed]

Cabau is a co-founder and ambassador of Stop Kindermisbruik, a foundation which aims to put an end to child sexual abuse in developing countries. Stop Kindermisbruik engages in actions such as freeing child prostitutes, preventing children from becoming child prostitutes, and helping freed children cope with the trauma they endured.[10]

On March 5, 2019, the couple announced their decision to split up, but made it clear that there was not (yet) going to be a divorce. Yolanthe stopped using the name Sneijder-Cabau and refers to herself now as Yolanthe Cabau.
